HAVE YOU BEEN WONDERING WHY IT IS NOT RAINING IN VANCOUVER LIKE IT USED TO? WONDER NO MORE - VIEW THE PATENT FOR THE LATEST WUNDER PRODUCT FROM THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX - RAIN-FREE CITIES. ABSTRACT
A method of articially modifying the weather by seeding rain clouds of a storm with suitable cross-linked aqueous polymer. The polymer is dispersed into the cloud and the wind of the storm agitates the mixture causing the polymer to absorb the rain. This reaction forms a gelatinous substance which precipatates to the surface below. Thus, diminishing the clouds ability to rain.
We know it will be bad, real bad, but so what, we are going to do it anyways
Unilateral Geoengineering Non-technical Briefing Notes for a Workshop At the Council on Foreign Relations Washington DC, May 05, 2008
Summary
There are a variety of strategies, such as injecting light-reflecting particles into the stratosphere, that might be used to modify the Earth’s atmosphere-ocean system in an attempt to slow or reverse global warming. All of these "geoengineering" strategies involve great uncertainty and carry significant risks. They may not work as expected, imposing large unintended consequences on the climate system. While offsetting warming, most strategies are likely to leave other impacts unchecked, such as acidification of the ocean, the destruction of coral reefs, and changes in composition of terrestrial ecosystems. Yet, despite uncertain and very negative potential consequences, geoengineering might be needed to avert or reverse some dramatic change in the climate system, such as several meters of sea level rise that could impose disaster on hundreds of millions of people.
This workshop will focus on the question of strategies for constraining and shaping geoengineering. We will explore formal, legal strategies as well as informal efforts to create norms that could govern testing and deployment of geoengineering systems and their possible undesirable consequences.
Robert Hormats, Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs, is to be installed as Under Secretary of Economics, Business, and Agricultural Affairs. This comes as one more, probably unnecessary reminder of the total control exercised by Wall Street over the Obama administration’s economic and financial policy. True, Hormats is “a talker rather than a decider” according to one former White House official, but he will find plenty of old friends used to making decisions, almost all of them uniformly disastrous for the U.S. and global economy.
Are 9/11 Truthers in the closet? Should we be? Are there advantages to not mentioning that we are Truthers? Should we lead dual lives, going to the daily grind, dealing with mainstream society by maintaining the illusion that we are incapable of thinking for ourselves or having interesting lives, showing our true identities only to our alternative friends in the Truth movement? Most of us do it to some extent. We call it: "Choosing our battles." Or: "Not getting fired." Sometimes it is just convenient, not to mention 9/11 Truth. Sometimes there are serious consequences -- like losing a job and having no money to feed your children. Sometimes it is even polite -- like not badgering your old grandmother with something she can't really understand. (My use of the term "in the closet" is not an accident. There are important parallels here with the lessons learned by the Gay Liberation movement and they have much to teach us -- more on that later...)
Round about when I met Jason over at Rick's place, we started collaborating on a pitch for a TV series. At that time, Jason was in rehearsals for a play about to be staged by a local theatre company called Theatre in the Raw. He had written it, however he could not act in it.
Since I can remember, I've been whining about wanting to run my own comedy room. In pursuit of this goal, I've been attending open mic nights around town, mostly stand-up comedy rooms. I've asked friends to ask friends who might know friends who may have friends with access to a pub or cafe willing to host a weekly comedy show. No luck, not enough friends, I guess.
The Corporate Media State Has Deformed American Culture
These corporations used mass communication, as well as an understanding of the human subconscious, to turn consumption into an inner compulsion. Old values of thrift, regional identity that had its own iconography, aesthetic expression and history, diverse immigrant traditions, self-sufficiency, a press that was decentralized to provide citizens with a voice in their communities were all destroyed to create mass, corporate culture. New desires and habits were implanted by corporate advertisers to replace the old. Individual frustrations and discontents could be solved, corporate culture assured us, through the wonders of consumerism and cultural homogenization. American culture, or cultures, was replaced with junk culture and junk politics. And now, standing on the ash heap, we survey the ruins. The very slogans of advertising and mass culture have become the idiom of common expression, robbing us of the language to make sense of the destruction. We confuse the manufactured commodity culture with American culture.
Health experts are fond of saying any new disease is just a flight away from anywhere, and a report published on Monday shows the new strain of H1N1 flu followed the airline route map as it spread around the globe.
The swine flu virus spread first and quickest in March and April in the United States and Canada -- where 80 percent of airline passengers traveled in March and April of 2008, researchers at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto found.
Dr. Kamram Khan of St. Michael's and colleagues used International Air Transport Association data for their study. They said travel patterns were also similar in 2007 and therefore likely to be similar in 2009.
Commenting on the 1980 founding of the Solidarity movement during the Communist era in Poland, he told his host, “I was up to my ears in dealing with it and trying to steer it and manipulate it.” When asked about regime change in Iran, Brzezinski answered that regime change is desired because it would provide a “greater accommodation” to the U.S., but it requires, among other things, “intelligent manipulation.”
I put the word “savings” in quotation marks because this 6.9 per cent is not what most people think of as savings. It is not money in the bank to draw out in rainy-day emergencies like losing one’s job, as thousands are every day. The statistic means that 6.9 per cent of national income is being earmarked to pay down debt – the highest savings rate in 15 years, up from actually negative rates (living on borrowed credit) just a few years ago. The only way in which these savings are “money in the bank” is that they are being paid by consumers to their banks and credit card companies. Read more at Counter Punch
Scientists' deaths are under the microscope
t's a tale only the best conspiracy theorist could dream up. Eleven microbiologists mysteriously dead over the span of just five months. Some of them world leaders in developing weapons-grade biological plagues. Others the best in figuring out how to stop millions from dying because of biological weapons. Still others, experts in the theory of bioterrorism. Throw in a few Russian defectors, a few nervy U.S. biotech companies, a deranged assassin or two, a bit of Elvis, a couple of Satanists, a subtle hint of espionage, a big whack of imagination, and the plot is complete, if a bit reminiscent of James Bond. The first three died in the space of just over a week in November.
Thank you for your correspondence of April 27, 2009 regarding Minister Stockwell Day's response to a previous inquiry about the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States.
As noted in Minister Day's letter, the Government of Canada has accepted the findings of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (known as the 9/11 Commission Report). While joining with all Canadians in mourning the deaths of the victims of these attacks, the Government of Canada is therefore not inclined to pursue an independent investigation.
Thank you again for sharing your views on this matter.
Yours sincerely,
The Honourable Peter Van Loan, P.C.. M.P. Minister of Public Safety
More from the Cutting Room Floor
I'm whittling away the film. Here are some shots that I've recently cut. It's not really editing when you use the out-takes to make mini movies, is it?
I'm starting to like this film. For an editor, that's where the problems start. The nemesis has a name. It's called "attachment".
Many years ago, in film school, I sat through notorious film classics such as "The Flicker" and "Passons de Jeanne d' Arc". I am not really of the YouTube generation. I have patience for films that are a little bit slower.
In reality, Truth Bus still needs to be trimmed. But the main issue at this point is not pacing - it's structure. The question remains: "What's the story?"
People ask me: "When will Truth Bus be done?" Well, when will we see a proper investigation into the events of September 11? The answer to these questions is still blowing in the wind. Right now, above all, we need a sound editor.
